About MAT

The De Montfort University Music and Audio Technology (MAT) is comprised of two Bachelor of Arts degrees, two Bachelor of Science degrees and a unique combined Bachelor of Arts and Science (BASc) – the first of its kind in the UK:

  • BA Creative Music Technology (previously known as Music, Technology and Innovation — and one of the UK’s longest-standing music technology programmes)
  • BA Music, Technology and Performance
  • BSc Digital Music Technology
  • BSc Audio Recording Technology
  • BASc Music Technology

Examples of creative work from BA students can be found at the MTI Jukebox site.

The programme was originally launched by the Music, Technology and Innovation – Institute for Sonic Creativity, a world-leading centre of research on artistic creation and theory focused on innovative application of new technologies to music.

MAT is part of DMU’s Leicester Media School, which has over 1,800 students, working across over 30 degrees, providing exciting opportunities for meeting and working with students working in broad range of media.
